Description

The SKODA-14TR trolleybus was manufactured by the Czechoslovakian company OSTROV and served as the successor to the company's SKODA-9TR trolleybus.

The appearance of the SKODA-14TR is distinctly different from that of the SKODA-9TR. Its body features a more angular design, along with being longer, taller, and more spacious. It is equipped with planetary double-leaf pneumatic doors and oval-shaped front headlights. The passenger cabin is fitted with reasonably comfortable semi-soft seats, which were previously used in the 9TR model. All or some of the windows are equipped with large air vents, ensuring sufficient ventilation inside the vehicle during hot seasons.

The SKODA-14TR is outfitted with full pneumatic suspension for both the front and rear axles, as well as hydraulic power steering. This suspension system includes three-stage balloon elastic pneumatic components, hydraulic shock absorbers, and long-stroke five-link steering devices. Additionally, it is equipped with three independent braking systems: service electric braking, emergency pneumatic braking, and auxiliary parking braking, which enhances operational safety.

The SKODA-14TR is highly regarded for its reliability and straightforward operation. It was even exported to the United States, where it operated in Dayton and San Francisco respectively.
